Our messy hotel room:
Yad Vashem:

In Malka mall, eating Kentucky Fried Chicken:

We were suppose to work two hours this morning. Our boss was late. They are often late, this is Israel. We cleaned our rooms, pour water on floor and sweep it out. No wonder everything smells like mould. After lunch we got ride to Ramla busstation. From there we took bus to Jerusalem. It took about one hour and cost 21 shekels - about 4 euros. Walking Jaffa road towards our hotel *whoa* it was hot. Jerusalem is more religious than some other cities and there were herds of men in black, with funny hats and curly hair on their ears.
Think it was yesterday when arab construction worker went mad and killed people with bulldozer in this same street, and then he was shot. It was all over news. There was speculation was he a terrorist or just crazy. Did security guard and off duty army guy act right. One hopped in, tried to beat this lunatic by grabbing his neck or arms while bulldozer still kept crushing cars and people in it. Other guy hopped in, took gun from first one and shot few times at crazy man's head.

Finally we got into our two star deluxe hotel Habira, excellent location in 40 Jaffa street, near post office, city hall, Ben Yehuda street and Old City. For three nights, three women, one bedroom cost 120 USD each. Not bad. We had soft beds - no squeaking. Tv - lots of channels. Fridge, wardrobe, desk and chair, relatively clean bathroom. I'm not so sure was my sheets clean or not. But I could go there again if I visit Jerusalem next time. Men in reception were very nice and helpful.
I went to holocaust museum, Yad Vashem, with fellow volunteer from Canada. It was free entry but I gave them 20 NIS anyway, taking pictures was not allowed inside museum. Most moving thing for me was pile of dead people's shoes on the floor. Tears burned in my eyes. Men, women, children - shoes of all sizes. They are all dead. Murdered. Pictures of starving or hanged people was not so nice either. Or video where old man tells about his experiences, at age of 13 he had to remove golden tooth from murdered people and he tried to describe how bad it smell. Too bad we did not eneugh time to see all, museum closes at 19. We took taxi to Malka mall and meet our US friends, went to dinner in KFC.
